ABOUT
YOURS TRULY,
I am a second-year student at the University of California, Irvine, pursuing a bachelors degree in Information and Computer Science with a specialization in Architecture and Embedded Systems. I've been interested in computer science ever since the NSA Leaks in 2013, which sparked my interest in cybersecurity and augmented reality.
However, my interests aren't limited to technical subjects. In addition to technology, I'm an avid follower of international affairs and diplomacy. I've been involved in Model United Nations since my freshman year of high school, where I participated in conferences and helped lead the club as an officer. In university, I continued my involvement by joining the UCI Model United Nations club and becoming part of the Crisis Committee Staff. As you can tell from my portfolio, I also have a strong interest in photography and graphic design. Ever since I joined the yearbook team in middle school, I've been developing skills in design and the arts. In high school, I rose to the position of Editor-in-Chief and led my team in developing the school's 40th anniversary edition, The New Classic. One distinction that I'm very proud of is my status as a UCIAA Endowed Scholar. Awarded by the UCI Alumni Association, I am one of the four recipients of this scholarship. Although there is a monetary benefit, I am so thankful for this award because UCIAA doesn't just give me checks. They give me something much more meaningful - community and opportunities. From this scholarship, I have been given the privilege of networking with esteemed professors and unique individuals who have shaped UCI's path, and ultimately, my path. Events such as Dinner with Anteaters (a small dinner group of alumnus) to UCI Lauds and Laurels (an elaborate dinner and award ceremony) have allowed me to connect with influential leaders who have given me invaluable advice in not only my academic life, but also life beyond university. Ever since my induction into this special group, I have learned the value of networking and pushed myself to connect with more people and give back to our wonderful community. With the rise of augmented reality in popular culture (i.e., Pokemon Go and the Iron Man movies), my urgency to contribute to the field has increased. I'm always looking to gain more experience and hear more stories, so don't hesitate to get in touch! |
